AM Day Serum Moisturiser #wildlifeconservation
Made in Christchurch
This beautifully natural, Mānuka honey based AM Day Serum is a biome-positive moisturiser and primer in one; combining Active 16+ Manuka Honey with antioxidants and New Zealand Ponga Fern seed oil. This special formulation has been developed to maintain the skin’s natural pH and solve common skin problems by strengthening the skin and improving its overall health. Your skin is left dewy and hydrated; a perfectly primed base to add foundation.
What on Earth is postive-biome skincare?
Not all germs are bad. In fact, the good bacteria on your skin is critical to achieving healthy, strong skin. Many skincare ranges use synthetic fillers that completely strip your skin of bacteria, the problem being that they strip the good bacteria along with the bad. This leads to weakened skin that is more susceptible to environmental damage.
This delicate bacteria ecosystem is called your skin’s ‘microbiome.’ Just like your gut microbiome, your skin microbiome needs ‘good’ bacteria.
AM Day Serum uses Active 16+ Mānuka Honey to keep the bad bacteria in check, while feeding and protecting the good bacteria. Mānuka Honey contains prebiotics which encourage the growth of good bacteria on our skin, while its anti-bacterial properties help to manage the bad bacteria. And that my friends, is a whole lot of good.
If the change of season has taken your skin by surprise and you need a little extra moisture, try mixing a few drops of Dr Au Concentrates Anti-Aging Face Oil No.2 with a pea-sized amount of AM Day Serum on the back of your hand and then apply that to your face. This little cocktail of retinol and medical grade Mānuka honey deeply nourishes your skin while giving it long-lasting protection
Hero ingredients: Grape Seed Extract, NZ Ponga Seed Fern Oil, Majestem – Plant cells, active for tightening & lifting, Mānuka honey.
If you're looking for the AM Day Serum eco pouch refil, its here
Every year, 480 billion single-use bottles go to landfill, where they will stay for the next 800 years (assuming we’ll get that long, that is). It only takes you 30 seconds to refill your aluminium container with Au Natural's plant-based pouches and by doing so, you save a bottle from going to landfill. We understand moving towards zero-waste can be overwhelming, but every action helps; all you need to do is start.
Au Natural founders Tracy and Tony Ahern started this environmentally kind skinfood venture in 2014, with a deep respect for bees and their naturally derived contribution to beautiful, hydrated skin.
Living for just a short six weeks in the summer and four to six months in the winter, each bee only produces 1/12 of a teaspoon of honey in her lifetime. Collectively, however, a hive makes enough honey to not only support itself over winter, but also to have a little extra, that beekeepers can harvest for food and of course for skincare.
Bees are an exceptionally important part of our ecosystem, and we need to look after them so you can rest assured that no bees are harmed in the making of Au Natural Skinfood products – in fact they are treated like rock stars and given the very best environment to live and thrive off.
Au Natural sources active 16+ Manuka honey from local apiaries who use ethical and sustainable practices. This means that hives are placed in native vegetation free of GMO’s and pesticides, and the beekeepers leave enough honey and pollen for the bees to feed on until the next season. Manuka honey harvesting must also be done without the use of synthetic repellents.
While honeybees may be small, they make an essential contribution to maintaining human health, and indeed, our survival. It is thought that one in three bites of food we eat depends on bees for its production, and their influence is spreading into health and skincare. Now is a perfect opportunity to plant something in your garden, or even in your kitchen or apartment, that will help to keep our honeybee population growing.
In 2019, Au Natural Skinfood partnered with the Jane Goodall Institute New Zealand.
"There have been many successes along our sustainability journey, but this could well be our most meaningful and the partnership was certainly not entered lightly. As we continue to grow we hope not only to support the Jane Goodall Institute New Zealand financially, but also to encourage our team and members to roll up their sleeves and plant more trees in New Zealand, educating our youth on sustainable living along the way."
