Andrea Tarella is a renowned Italian fashion illustrator from Verbania, Lago Maggiore. His early passion for drawing turned into a full time job when he moved to Milan at the age of 18. A collaboration with Elio Fiorucci for his Love Therapy project marked the start of his career in the fashion industry. A self-educated artist, Andrea defines his style as “rough”, with an experimental approach that often brings him on to unexpected paths. His chosen media are watercolour and Indian ink. His favourite scenarios are set into naturalistic imagery with animals and plants, yet his inventiveness leaves him open to any challenge.
Andrea divides his time between his illustration projects for the likes of Prada, YSL and Vogue, and collaborating with a non-profit organisation focused on helping disabled people and immigrants in their search for a more independent life.
Currently he’s still living in Milan with a guinea pig, a couple of Chinese quails, an unknown number of fishes, four salamanders, an iguana, a turtle, four frogs and a squirrel.
